I never saw 150 pass on any "W" series car, not even at Footy time. Footy trams probably did have 150 pass but a lot were riding on the step.

The later W class cars were shown on the bulkhead as having a capacity of 150. The Z class are listed in Railpage Australia as having a capacity of 125, although approximately 1.5 metres longer, and probably wider.

I think that the difference is the result of adopting a standard for standing of 4 persons per sq metre, as against how many you can actually cram in for the older cars. This needs to be considered.
