Not to mention the 'missing bits' where particular items have been stripped to keep existing cars running, accident damage or where cars were nonfunctioning due to fair wear and tear and these were the reason for the car being taken out of service.
Add to that dry rot, rust and other continuing degredation that continues even with covered storage.
